Ferry to Inspire Sustainability Heroes – Fish Club kids take home a fishing rod and colour-in bag with activities
Thanks to the teams at Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre and Caring for our Bays – Bellarine Catchment Network the 2-hour interactive experience will allow your child to learn about marine creatures, caring for the environment and an introduction to responsible fishing.
Bookings are essential, and spots are limited. All professionals are accredited and specialist educators. While in Geelong you will have free time to explore and grab a bite. Be sure to check out these great offers from local cafes and restaurants
FISH Club Package Itinerary & Inclusions
Ex Docklands 9:30 am – Ex Portarlington 11:00 am
- 9:10 am – Docklands to Geelong check-in – 10.40 am Portarlington to Geelong check-in.
- Once on board, there’ll be an interactive display onboard the ferry highlighting the environmental values and marine life of Port Phillip Bay & Corio Bay.
- Take home kids’ colour-in bag with activities (provided upon arrival into Geelong).
- Take home kids’ fishing rod
- Once in Geelong, there’ll be a 70 min Fishing Experience at Geelong waterfront
- After fishing there’ll be free time to explore Geelong waterfront and grab a bite or sweet treat at your discretion
- 3.00 pm – Ferry departs Geelong (boarding commences 20 mins prior to departure)
- 5.10 pm – Arrive back at Docklands

Please note:
- A parent or guardian must accompany Children at all times onboard the ferry and for shore-side activities.
- Children must be aged 6-13 years with a valid FISH Club ticket to take part in activities.
- To avoid disappointment, Children must have a Fish Club package ticket to access activities and inclusions. Availability for activities is limited to 20 children per departure.
- Please board 20 minutes before departure time from the Docklands Ferry Terminal. Our crew will direct you to where the Fish Club activities will be held onboard. Ferry boarding closes 3 minutes prior to departure times.
- To avoid disappointment, Children must have a Fish Club package ticket to access activities and inclusions. Availability for activities is limited to 20 children per departure from Docklands and 10 children per departure from Portarlington (30 children in total per Fish Club).
What to wear & bring
- For warm and wet weather days please dress accordingly. Remember being on the bay weather can change throughout the day so it is best to dress in layers.
- Be sure to slip, slop, slap, seek, and slide to protect yourself from the sun.
- As some of the locations may be slippery when wet, we recommend wearing closed comfortable shoes (no thongs/flip flops).
- Water and cold drinks are available for purchase at the Off with the Ferries Café in Docklands, onboard the Geelong Flyer and various locations in Geelong.
- Don’t forget your camera for those happy snaps.
