Our Story

Port Phillip Ferries

Port Phillip Ferries is not just a passenger ferry service. We connect people and experiences, and we’re on a mission to transform daily travel between Melbourne and the Geelong and Bellarine regions, one cruise at a time.

Sailing 365 days a year, we offer two separate daily services between Docklands ↔ Portarlington and Docklands ↔ Geelong. Our service is enjoyed by daily commuters and leisure travellers who wish to access the coast or the city with ease.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Port Phillip Bay. There is no better way to travel, guaranteed!

Our Vessels

Our state-of-the-art, purpose-built vessels cater to all the creature comforts, with friendly staff, free Wi-Fi, charging stations, toilets, tables, and drop-down trays.

Each ferry has comfortable seating for 400 passengers. You can choose between the upper deck, lower deck, or two outside decks for fresh air or happy snaps.

We have a licensed café on board both vessels, so you can get your coffee fix or enjoy a cheeky beer or wine during the journey. Not to mention, we have other cold drinks and sweet and savoury snacks from the likes of Bellarine Smokehouse and Manzanillo olive grove.

Both ferries are easily accessible for all via our boarding ramps, and they comfortably accommodate wheelchairs, motorised mobility scooters, and prams. All are welcome to make use of the 20 (free!) on-board bike racks, too.

Travellers Aid (carer respite)

Port Phillip Ferries is partnering with Travellers Aid to support unpaid carers and/or the person they care for to have a day out, enjoying our destinations across the bay.

Choose from one of our packages or put together your own itinerary. A trained volunteer or qualified staff member from Travellers Aid can be with you on the entire journey to assist you. This can include pushing a wheelchair, personal guidance for someone with vision impairment, meal and communication assistance or just companionship.

Our Team

Every good boat needs a good captain and a great crew, and that’s what we’ve got.

You’ll get to know them by name the more you cruise because they all love a chat. But the fact is, they are here to help you make the most of your trip and what you can get up to at either end.

If they don’t have the answer for you, they will do their best to find out. They’ll be glad to share their favourite secrets on where to eat and what to do. Most importantly, they are there to keep you safe and comfortable. Be sure to introduce yourself next time you’re on board.
