Docklands Firelight Festival
June 28 @ 5:00 pm - June 30 @ 10:00 pm
Firelight Festival returns to Docklands, bigger and better than ever in 2019. This explosive three-day festival will feature live entertainment, flame jets, fire drums, water and light shows and fireworks – and it’s all happening right on our doorstep!
Friday 28 June, 5pm – 10pm
Saturday 29 June, 5pm – 10pm
Sunday 30 June, 5pm – 10pm
Get all cosy and celebrate the winter solstice with fabulous food and fire performers. Drummers, stilt walkers and a one-man band will rove along the harbour, accompanied by live music from around the world including Bollywood, mariachi, gypsy folk and Irish.
Each night, watch the thrilling burn of one of three handmade, giant wooden sculptures created by Melbourne-based artist Christian Patton. The burns will be accompanied by spectacular pyrotechnics in a combination of new and timeless winter solstice traditions, inviting good fortune and warding off evil spirits for the coming year.
Fire drums, flaming jets and fire performances will keep you warm on the outside while blazing BBQ, sizzling paellas, soups, sweets, mulled wine and toasty hot chocolate will warm you from the inside.
