Melbourne Money!

The City of Melbourne has launched a new $8.4 million dining initiative in partnership with the Victorian Government, to bring people back into the city and provide much-needed support for our hospitality sector.

Diners who spend between $50 and $500 (including GST) in Melbourne’s restaurants, cafes, and bars can now claim a 20 percent rebate on their total food and drink bill. The rebate will be provided to your nominated Australian bank account within five business days of your claim being approved. The offer will be on a first-in-first-served basis until funds are exhausted.

The rebate is available across the entire municipality including Southbank, Chinatown, Lygon Street, Docklands, North Melbourne, and Kensington, and at hospitality venues within the sporting, arts, and theatre precincts.

How the rebate will work

You can claim your 20 percent rebate in three easy steps:

  1. Pay for your meal in full and make sure you get an itemised receipt with the business name and ABN on it.
  2. Take a photo or scan a copy of your receipt and upload it with your bank details via our secure Melbourne Money website.
  3. Your 20 percent rebate will be credited to your nominated Australian bank account within five business days once your claim has been approved.

As per current guidelines provided by the Victorian Government, if you are travelling into the city please ensure that you adhere to the current restrictions.
