Pier Street Cafe, located right on the waterfront, serves incredibly fresh mussels, with a range of dishes from smoked mussel chowder to Sri Lankan mussel curry.
Your journey begins with a relaxing cruise across Port Phillip Bay from Docklands aboard a modern fast ferry, arriving in the charming seaside town of Portarlington. With our convenient ferry service and so many mussel dishes to try, you’ll want to come back again. The Port to Plate Mussel Experience includes everything—even a drink with lunch!
After lunch, stroll through the quaint township or relax with a cocktail at the Grand Hotel Atrium. A perfect day out with family or friends!

*Primarily this package features Portarlington Mussels. However, if there are some members in your party who don’t eat shellfish, we are able to exchange the Mussel Lunch with another main menu item to the equivalent value (seafood sharing platter not included). Please leave all dietary requirements information in the comments field when booking.
Weekday Itinerary – 2 lunch seating times
- Depart Docklands at 9.30 am and arrive in Portarlington at 10.40 am
- Choose an early lunch seating at Midday or a late lunch at 1.30 pm (choose when booking)
- Before or after lunch you’ll have time to explore Portarlington shops or go for a coastal stroll
- Coming home you will depart Portarlington at 4.00 pm and arrive back to Docklands at 5.10 pm
Weekend Itinerary – 2 lunch seating times
- Depart Docklands at 10.30 am and arrive in Portarlington at 11.50 am
- Choose an early lunch seating at 12.30 pm or a late lunch at 2.00 pm (choose when booking)
- Before or after lunch you’ll have time to explore Portarlington shops or go for a coastal stroll
- Coming home you will depart Portarlington at 5.00 pm and arrive back to Docklands at 6.10 pm
