There’s so many great things to do when you arrive in Portarlington!

Portarlington

Nestled away on the Bellarine, surrounded by award-winning wineries and pristine coastal views is Portarlington.

Explore Portarlington Pier

Portarlington Pier has been part of the town’s waterfront since 1859 and remains one of the Bellarine’s most loved bayside landmarks. Home to local fishing vessels and Port Phillip Ferries services to Melbourne Docklands, the recently rebuilt and expanded pier blends modern facilities with the charm of a traditional coastal harbour.

Stretching out across the bay with its attractive timber-style boardwalk and sweeping views toward Melbourne, the pier is a favourite spot for a stroll, fishing or simply soaking up the relaxed seaside atmosphere. With calm beaches, boating facilities, picnic areas, BBQs, walking paths and a family playground all nearby, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a classic Bellarine day by the bay.

Portarlington Beach

Portarlington Beach is a hidden Bellarine gem, offering calm, shallow waters, uninterrupted views across Port Phillip Bay to Melbourne and the You Yangs, and a relaxed foreshore perfect for families. With quiet swimming conditions, picnic areas, barbecue facilities, walking paths and plenty of space to unwind, it’s an easy and scenic spot to enjoy a classic seaside day out.

Portarlington Playground

Completely transformed in late 2019, the Portarlington foreshore playground has become one of the Bellarine’s best family-friendly spots. Designed for children of all ages, it blends traditional playground fun with nature-inspired and imaginative play, including a dry creek bed with water play, balancing logs, climbing ropes, swings, a trampoline and a flying fox. Perched high above the foreshore, the custom-built play structures also deliver stunning views across Port Phillip Bay to the Melbourne skyline, making it a playground with a view. With BBQ facilities, picnic areas and the beach just steps away, it’s the perfect place for families to settle in and spend the day.

Portarlington Art Trail

With 14 unique artworks scattered around town this is a fun family outing of creative wonder.
