Wonderland Spiegeltent Festival

12 September – 20 October

Rolling up to Federation Square these school holidays is the magnificent, the stupendous, the incredible, Wonderland Spiegeltent Festival.  With a dedicated Spring school holidays program featuring circus, acrobatic, magic and adventure shows, the kids will be awestruck by the thrills and tricks of Spiegeltent!

The Royal Melbourne Show

21 September – 1 October

Welcome to the fun house, the food house and the animal house!  This year the Royal Melbourne Show are excited to announce an all new layout and program of activities.  The fan favourites are still on hand to entertain; animals, attractions, showbags and food fare but there are some special added extras and a super new layout waiting for you to explore.  Everything is interactive and everything is most certainly fun!

AFL Footy Festival and Grand Final Parade

25 – 28 September

Footy, footy, footy – get excited and revved up for the mighty action of the Grand Final at this four-day footy fest.  The Footy Festival celebrates all things AFL with the MILO Kids Zone (a giant inflatable obstacle course), AFL player appearances, signing sessions, the 2019 AFL Grand Final Parade and massive screens to watch all the action of the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final LIVE!  There will also be food and music throughout the course of this epic footy fest.

The District Makers Market

29 September

A specifically programmed market for the school holidays – ‘The Kids Market’.  You and the kids will love browsing through unique and handmade pieces for babies and children, with clothing and accessories, homewares to fill the nursery, toys for the playroom and everything in between.  Free workshops will be running throughout the day, along with live music thrumming through the District.

Spring into Nature

2 October

The kids will love being surrounded by the bursting, beautiful blooms of Spring at the Ian Potter Foundation Children’s Garden in the Royal Botanic Gardens.  Drop-in anytime between 10am and 1pm to partake in nature-based sensory experiences; weaving your own flower crown, concocting a herbaceous potion and/or relaxing in the serenity of the designated quiet space.

Kids Fly Free*

Outdoor Adventure

21 September – 6 October

It’s adventure time at District Docklands as they present the energetic District Outdoor Adventure Park.  Jump to avoid wipe-outs in The Eliminator, battle your way through an inflatable commando course in The Mega Extreme, score a touchdown in The Extreme Sports Adventure and bungee your way into all different tricks with The Bungee Trampolines.  Make sure you bring your energy and enthusiasm!

Fire on Ice

21 September – 6 October

What happens when you mix fire and ice?  You get the spectacular ‘Fire on Ice’ show at the O’Brien Icehouse.  During these school holidays the incomparable circus performer, Tim Matousek, will take to the ice whilst juggling sticks of fire.  These bright and fiery performances are held daily between 12pm and 3pm.

 

From ferry to activity, simply utilise Melbourne CBD’s FREE city circle tram network.  We dock extremely close to this fabulous (and did we mention FREE) tram network.
