With the long weekend almost here, we gave a call out to some of our friends around the Bellarine to check out who’s open and what’s happening.  We wanted to make it easy for you to decide what to do this long weekend.

No, there’s no need to spend your lunch breaks googling… here’s all you need to know to make the most of this long weekend.

The Q Train

Sat : 6:30pm departure from Drysdale Railway Station

The Q Train is a restaurant on rails, serving 6 a course degustation of local produce as you travel through The Bellarine. Their new Autumn menu has just been released with new seasonal flavors and talk of the town is that this is a new hot spot for foodies! Bookings Required

Wine Wheels

Tours running Saturday Sunday and Monday

Get on board Wine Wheels for an epicurean adventure filled with wine, cider, food and fun! They will shuttle you in comfort to some of our very favourite places before returning you to the ferry for your voyage back across the bay.  It’s an easy day, done well.

Bouchon at Bellarine Estate

Sat: Lunch 12pm to 3pm //  Dinner 6pm to 9pm   Sun: Lunch 12pm to 3pm

Bouchon is serving Authentic provincial French food with a selection of Bellarine estate wines and some French wines such as Bordeaux or Cotes du Rhones. Beautiful outdoor seating facing the vines make it feel like heaven on earth. Some of our favourite dishes include “moules frites”, Fresh local Portarlington mussels in a mariniere sauce served with hand cut chips. Superb.

Portarlington Golf Club

Sat: 10am to 1am   Sun: 10am to 1am   Mon : 10am until close

It’s an easy decision when the golf club offers complimentary bus pickup for our ferry passengers, with the bus running nightly over the long weekend. The weekend kicks off on Friday with Happy Hour from 6pm and classic meat tray raffle fun!  Their bistro is open daily.

Scotchmans Hill

Scotchmans Hill are releasing their newest wines over the long weekend (it’s definitely something to not miss out on) with the 2015 Shiraz and 2016 Pinot Noir will be available for tasting for the first time! There will be special offers and games on the lawn for the kids. Simple, long weekend, fun.

The Little Mussel Café

The Little Mussel Cafe has an enclosed outdoor area to enjoy some of the tempting treats on the new menu – accompanied by a local beer, wine, cider or a fresh coffee. Some of our favourites on offer include the Mussel Chowder, Mussel Tasting plates, Chilli Mussels, Oyster Kilpatrick and we can’t go past the delicious Arancini balls! All products are handmade on site – and make it worth a visit this long weekend.
