Explore Portarlington and Geelong from a different perspective with an hour cruise on a 35m start-of-art catamaran. These short cruises will be operating on select weekends throughout the school holidays and they are a great way to experience the Bellarine and Geelong from a different angle. Catch the ferry while the Geelong line is disrupted. There will be major disruptions on the Geelong Line from Tuesday 11 April to Wednesday 3 May, while works continue to remove the dangerous and congested level crossing at Mt Derrimut Road in Deer Park, and V/Line completes critical maintenance. During this time, you can travel between Geelong and Docklands on the ferry with two direct weekday services available, including on Anzac Day. Pre-bookings are essential, and a valid myki will be required to board the ferry.

Port Phillip Ferries has brand new ferry services between Geelong and Portarlington. Available from Monday to Friday there are a number of options available that provide residents with a much nicer way to travel between the two ports.

In 2024, Port Phillip Ferries is shaking things up with their Footy Ferries! Keep an eye out for the launch of some exciting “Special Services” tailored for the big games, like Easter Monday, set to be unveiled on the website soon. However, for most of the year the Footy Ferry Specials will be running out of Portarlington using the regular ferry timetable. Using these services allows for more time getting to the grounds from the Melbourne Ferry Terminal and getting back to the ferry after the game. This timetable also caters for more games and more teams, which is great for a wider range of supporters.

The National Celtic Festival is back and the easiest way to get there is via Port Phillip Ferries direct to the venue. Held over 4 days of the June long weekend this winter festival is regarded as Australia’s premier Celtic Folk Festival and attracts over 18,000 people to the region. There’ll be food trucks, markets, free live music, free entertainment, outdoor bars, open fires and more… and it’s all so easily accessible from Melbourne via a fast ferry direct to the venue.

Herald Sun/ Transurban Run for the Kids is on Sunday 17 March 2024 and we want to ensure that you’re aware of the impact the event may have on you. On 17 March, there will be several road closures around the Docklands precinct to manage participant and spectator movements during the event. As these road closures are around the ferry Melbourne Ferry Terminal it will impact ferry passengers on the morning of Sunday 17 March 2024. The ferry terminal is still very much accessible to everyone however there are designated entry points that all passengers should be aware of if travelling on this day.
