Dream Now, Travel Later

a small boat in a harbor next to a body of water

We all know the drill. Now is not the time to travel. Instead, we’re all about short-term pain for long-term gain. We’re staying home now so we can travel soon(er). There will be heaps of time for adventures in the future. We’re not exactly sure when, but we DO know that there will be plenty of sea breezes, open skies, good food and wine and even better company.

In the meantime, we’re thinking about all the things we can’t wait to do again when this has all blown over. We’ve even thrown in a selection of choice stuff that will see you through until then. So start dreaming and planning… and treat yourself a little.

Portarlington & the Bellarine

What we can’t wait to do again…

✨ Eat out, of course. Whether it be a million-course degustation at a fancy local restaurant or a counter meal at the pub. Just imagine not worrying about cooking, dishes and cleaning up after yourself…🤤

✨ We’ll also be visiting all the cellar doors, wineries, local producers and farm-gates the region has to offer – not to mention the local markets.

✨ Hit up an iconic local event in 2021; the Portarlington Mussel Festival, National Celtic Festival or the Flying Brick Sunset Run.

In the meantime…

🤗 You can have the best of the Bellarine delivered to you!

Bellarine Box(es)
Support a host of top-notch producers and growers and indulge in your favourite locally sourced produce with these AMAH-ZING Bellarine Box(es) – aka isoboxes – that have been lovingly curated by the good folk at Bellarine Smokehouse.

Expect goods from Lardass Butter, Drysdale Cheeses, Bellarine Brownies, Manzanillo Grove Olive Oil, Fasties Honey, Adelia Fine Food and Bellarine Smokehouse. Plus tipples from: Bellarine Estate, McGlashan Estate, Flying Brick Cider Co, The Whiskery Bennetts on Bellarine, Banks Road Vineyard, Baie Wines.

And if you are one of the first 50 to buy a Mother’s Day box, you’ll receive a $10 FREE ferry gift card from us xx

You can get your own brown paper package tied up with string here

We’re gonna need more wine
Name a Bellarine winery or producer, and we just bet that they can deliver your fave wines to your door. Anyone mentioned above, for one. Or Scotchmans Hill, Leura Park, Terindah, Oakdene, One Day, Curlewis, Kilgour. The list is huge, and you can cast your peepers on it over at Wine Geelong’s website. You know what they say; drink good, do good, feel good.

Geelong

What we can’t wait to do again…
✨ Again, with the food (sorry). Locals are lucky enough to grab some takeaway – but we can’t wait to dine out at the MANY amazing restaurants and bars Geelong has to offer and share this experience with visitors.

✨ Reconnect with the gorgeous waterfront, promenades, beaches, parks, botanic gardens.

✨ Catch a show at the Geelong Arts Centre or live music at a local venue.

✨ Pack the bags and plan an overnighter.

✨ Shop till we drop at the many, lovely local stores.

In the meantime…

Get Arty Farty at Home
The RONE exhibition at the Geelong Gallery has been moved to 27 February – 16 May 2021 (woohoo). In the meantime, you can bring a (puzzle) piece of RONE’s artwork into your home with this jigsaw. Essential stuff.

Speaking of the Geelong Gallery. They’re here for us. Think virtual online tours, as well as educational resources for local schools and students. What good eggs.

That with Chicken
Geelong’s beloved The Hot Chicken Project is currently slinging take away for lucky locals. But what if you’re from out of town and you’re having hot chicken withdrawals? Good news! You can order a copy Aaron Turner’s new book The Hot Chicken Project and try making it yourself.

Check out this amazing list of Central Geelong Businesses who are doing things a little bit differently for now 👉 www.centralgeelong.com.au  – and can we just say, you’re a clever bunch.

Feeling the whimsy?

When we’re all able to travel again, remember: a short stay will go a long way in Victoria’s regions.

You can show your support by planning a stay for later in the year, or by buying local products and gift vouchers online.

You can also give a special someone something to look forward to with one of our very own gift vouchers (and an experience to share) when this is all over. They can be purchased over this way.

XOXO
