Have you missed the soaring skyscrapers, the sensational shops, and the striking stylings of metro Melbourne?  Well great news!  The shops are re-stocked, the baristas are brewing, and the scrapers are definitely soaring.  Metro Melbourne is extremely excited to welcome you back, and with exciting escapades like these, you are going to want to make a couple of trips.

Walk where trail blazers walked…

With phone, photos and feet take an interactive walking tour of the Docklands.  Who is the tour guide?  You are of course!  Utilising the cleverly created app, Docklands Walking Tours, explore this amazing area, past and present.

You can choose to explore its rich heritage, walking by way of wharves, warehouses and railways, the crucial contributors to the industrial age.  Or you can opt to take a tour through the modern-day magic of the Art Trail, focusing on a spectacular selection of FREE-to-view public artworks.

Available in the App Store, Apple and Android.

Swing with the skyscrapers…

Take to the swings, slides and spinners of the Docklands parks.  With two distinctly cool and creative parks located in the Docklands region, all you have to do is park yourself and enjoy!

The Docklands Park Playground on Harbour Esplanade perfectly combines art and play.  A centrepiece of a gargantuan circular ring houses five fantastically fun swings.  There are also tunnels, sandpit, spinners, viewing platform, art installations and toilets.

The Ron Barassi Senior Park on Docklands Drive not only has a playground complete with a climbing fort, two massive slides, sandpit, water channels & pumps, digger, tyre swing but it also has a sweeping sports field, pavilion and walking circuit.

Having been temporarily grounded, Melbourne Star are stoked to be back and soaring you to the highest of heights.  Experience unforgettable panoramic views of Melbourne from the Southern Hemisphere’s only GIANT observation wheel.  From lush gardens to sky-scraper-lined streets to labouring ports, no scene is the same as you constantly move your way around and around Melbourne.
